External thermal insulation — known in Turkey as mantolama — wraps the outer walls of a building in insulation boards like a coat. It keeps heat inside in winter and keeps summer heat out. A properly installed system noticeably reduces heating costs and solves damp and mould problems caused by condensation inside the walls.

Which materials do we use?

Depending on the age and height of the building and on fire regulations, we choose EPS (graphite or white), XPS or mineral wool boards. Boards are fixed with adhesive mortar and plastic anchors, then finished with a mesh-reinforced base coat and a decorative top coat. All components come from one compatible system, which prevents the cracks and blistering caused by mixing brands.

How does the work proceed?

After a site survey and measurements, scaffolding is set up, the surface is cleaned and loose plaster removed. Boards are laid in a staggered pattern, corner profiles and window connection mesh are fitted, two coats of mesh-reinforced plaster are applied and, once cured, the facade is finished in the colour and texture you choose.

Frequently Asked Questions

Facade area, board type and thickness (EPS, XPS, mineral wool), the finish (paint or decorative render), any repairs needed and scaffolding conditions. That is why we measure on site and give an itemised quote rather than a flat price per square metre.

Adhesives and plasters are not applied below +5 °C or in the rain. In Istanbul work can continue on suitable winter days, but spring and autumn are the most efficient seasons.

It depends on building height, fire regulations and budget. EPS is economical and light; mineral wool is non-combustible and also improves sound insulation. Tall buildings may require mineral wool or mineral wool fire barriers at floor levels; we decide together during the survey.
