Free Site SurveyMesh-reinforced plaster embeds an alkali-resistant fibreglass mesh within the facade plaster. The mesh increases tensile strength and stops hairline cracks — caused by day-night temperature differences, settlement or vibration — from reaching the surface.
When is it needed?
It is an essential layer of every insulation system, and it is also used on its own to renew old, cracked facades. It is a lasting solution wherever rainwater gets in through cracks or paint starts blistering within a short time.
Application steps
Loose plaster and paint are removed and damaged areas are levelled with repair mortar. The first coat is applied and the mesh is pressed into the fresh mortar with overlaps of at least 10 cm. A second coat fully covers the mesh, leaving the surface ready for paint or decorative render.
